I first became interested in photography in 1998 when I took several photography classes while in high school. I continued to study photography in college. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Technology with a concentration in photography and the equivalent of a minor in media studies. In 1999 I recieved a certificate of merit from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for one of my photographs. My work has been published in the Mountain Times Newspaper and the York County Magazine. My photographs have also been featured on the web sites of Deep Blue Sun, David Via and the Corn Tornado, Furnace Mountain, The Lonely Goat, and Smilefest. In 2004 I was the senior photographer for BluegrassJam.net which was a web site that wrote articles and displayed photographs of several festivals and concerts in the southeast. In addition to photography I enjoy creating collage art and doing some painting. I am the daughter of two professional musicians and music has been a part of my life from an early age. I play guitar, mandolin, and also sing. I enjoy writing my own music as well as playing music that others have written. I have photographed instruments, musicians, concerts, and music festivals. I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and that is where I grew up. In the summertime growing up my parents worked at the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, North Carolina. I lived with them there in the summertime and had small parts acting and singing in four operas and two musicals during this time. I lived in Boone, North Carolina for five years while I was in college. I currently live in Sandy Springs, Georgia. I have photographed in the states I have lived in as well as the states and countries that I have visited. In addition to photographing music I like to photograph nature including the beauty and destruction of nature. I have recently been very interested in macro photography mostly of things that are found in nature. I also like to do candid photography of children. I have recently done head shots for friends and photographed several friends weddings. I have done video work for Flaming Idiot Productions and Live Jams.net. I did pet photography for a company called Treasured Images for a few months. I am interested in continuing to do photography and am willing to take on new jobs, assignments and challenges. I have also done some photo assisting and would be interested in doing more assisting in the future. I periodically sell work at art shows and the majority of the work featured on this website in available for sale as individual prints, matted prints, or framed and matted prints.
